Vintage Omega Watch Service & Restoration — R. McMahon Watchmakers
R. McMahon Watchmakers is a specialist restoration centre in Adelaide, South Australia, dedicated to vintage Omega watch service and restoration, performed by independent Master Watchmaker Richard McMahon.
With over 35 years of professional horological and precision micro-machining experience, Richard delivers historically sympathetic servicing and restoration that extends well beyond the capabilities of most general repair workshops and factory service centres. Each Omega is treated as a historically significant mechanical instrument, not a commodity repair.
This service is focused exclusively on mechanical vintage Omega wristwatches manufactured prior to 1971, utilising traditional watchmaking methods, genuine vintage Omega parts drawn from one of Australia’s largest independent holdings, and in-house component manufacture where original parts are no longer available.
At R. McMahon Watchmakers, every vintage Omega is restored with an emphasis on collector value preservation, mechanical integrity, and historical authenticity. All work is personally overseen by Richard in a purpose-built workshop equipped for precision restoration, advanced timing diagnostics, and specialised micro-manufacture. A 24-month warranty is provided on completed Omega restoration work unless otherwise stated prior to commencement.
We do not service Co-Axial or quartz Omega models. Our focus remains firmly on classic mechanical calibres with traditional lever escapements. All restoration work is undertaken strictly by appointment only.
Workshop capabilities include ultrasonic movement cleaning, precision case and component refinishing, and advanced in-house manufacture of discontinued components such as balance staffs, winding stems, wheels, pinions, and other critical movement parts.
Whether you own an Omega Seamaster, Omega Speedmaster Professional, Omega Constellation, or another pre-1971 mechanical Omega wristwatch, R. McMahon Watchmakers offers expert restoration that respects the watch’s heritage while ensuring long-term performance, reliability, and historical continuity.
